Culinaire Cooking School first opened it’s doors in 2003 with Chef Christiane Philip at the helm together with her husband John. After many years of honing her skill both in Europe and Australia. Christiane recognised a need for a cooking school with a hands on approach that taught students the fundamentals of cookery, rather than attending demonstration classes. A herb and kitchen garden was then planted out to supply the school with fresh produce for the classes and workshops. and offers a personal approach with only 8 students per class or workshop ensures maximum learning. The cooking school has grown to the well known inspirational and exiting experience it is today... a first class establishment now also housing a gift shop and conducting gourmet food tours.

Have you ever wanted to make your own bacon, salami, sausages, ham and proscuito. Come and join our qualified butcher on how to prepare a piglet for the table, this all hands on class,will teach you how to identify and prepare the cuts for smoking and curing. This is a great way to getting back to the basics and knowing what is in your food. you will take home the products you have prepared. Each course is restricted to 8 participants for maximum learning - so hurry and book for this great class.
1 Day Class 10am to 3pm
This workshop is for those who would to bake fresh bread at home with no need for a special bread oven. We teach you all about the right ingredients, how to make white and rye starters, how to make a sponge for ciabatta bread. shaping and proving your loaves and then baking your bread to take home. recipes are also provided. We bake with organic flour making it taste like bread should.
1 Day Class 10am to 2pm
Pasta is such a versatile and nutritious food, made in an amazing variety of shapes and sizes accompanied by an equally amazing array of sauces. Once you have tasted hand made pasta you will be hooked. You will be able to take home all your pasta for dinner. This is a great class for groups.

This cuisine uses spices that are not hot in a way but with a simple and tasty flavour. There are fish, chicken, lamb and duck masalas and mole, fresh vegetables and herbs are used in abundance and all are GLUTEN FREE. With salads on offer and spicy pickles together with lots of yoghurt based accompaniments, you will definitely enjoy this class.
5 Hours workshop 10am to 3pm
Lets face it, rice is very good for our diet especially when we can make such delicious dishes as paella and risotto. Both ways of cooking these rice dishes are very simple when you understand the cooking method and of course using the correct rice grains for the dish. There are endless combinations, great for entertaining!
4 Hours workshop 10am to 2pm
Yes there is an art to boiling water. Just as there is an art to poaching, grilling, baking and all other methods of cookery. This intensive 2 day course will touch on all the fundamentals of cookery. Stocks, soups, sauces, fish cookery, meat, poultry,vegetables, salads, baking and much more.

Our garden and shop
Come for a herb garden ramble - its free with so many different herbs plants, perhaps we can inspire you to plant your own garden or maybe just a big pot of fresh herbs. We enjoy the seasonal produce our garden supplies and are happy to share our knowledge with you. Herbs and fresh vegetables from the garden are far superior than two day old commercial produce and it only takes a small space to grow and not much effort once you have the know how. Come for a wander. With so many chain stores offering the same merchandise, looking for that something special is becoming increasingly harder.
At our Culinaire Gift Shop we have sourced great gifts and home wares from Australian, Swedish, French, Belgium, and Italian designers. You will be pleasantly surprised by the value for money we offer.If you are looking for something small to give, perhaps one of our many preserves will suit, grown right here in our garden and hand made in our kitchen. without preservative. Yes, of course, we have gift voucher available for classes and gift shop.
